Man City duo test positive for coronavirus as Guardiola without key men for Newcastle | Football | Sport – WebMag

Manchester City have confirmed that first-team stars Kyle Walker and Gabriel Jesus have tested positive for coronavirus and will miss the Boxing Day clash at home to Newcastle.

A club statement read: “Manchester City FC can confirm that Gabriel Jesus, Kyle Walker, and two members of staff have tested positive for COVID-19.

“All four personnel will now observe a period of self-isolation in accordance with Premier League and UK Government protocol on quarantine.

“Everyone at the Club wishes our colleagues a speedy recovery over the Christmas period ahead of their return to work, training and competition.”

Walker and Jesus will also likely miss the trip to Everton on December 28. Its is unclear if they will return for the crunch showdown with Chelsea on January 3.
